Overview
Overview
The Saints Way is a 27-mile coast-to-coast walking route in Cornwall, stretching from Padstow on the north coast to Fowey on the south coast, and is part of the longer Cornish Celtic Way.
Itinerary
Itinerary
Section 1 of the Saints Way runs 15 miles from Padstow to Lanivet and is graded easy with some moderate sections. Beginning at St Petroc’s Church in Padstow, this section of the Saints Way offers a varied inland route from coast to countryside. After climbing Dennis Hill for views of the Camel Estuary, the trail winds past Little Petherick’s 14th-century church and into the quiet meadows of the Mellingey Valley. A steady ascent to St Breock Down (700ft) features Bronze Age barrows and Cornwall’s largest standing stone. From there, the trail descends into hidden valleys and crosses the Ruthern River. Walkers overnight in the village of Lanivet.

TRIP TESTIMONIAL
The walk was amazing.
Pilgrimage
Countryside
The change of countryside scenery along the route means that you pass through coastal, woodland, villages, moorland and back to the coast throughout. We were lucky enough to see both coasts at the same time from the viewpoint. Stopping in at each of the churches was lovely and collecting stamps was a bonus.
